Really unusual color and construction for Oscar De La Renta but it is a very early piece - from his boutique label that i like to think he was stepping out of his zone a little and playing! The skirt is extraordinary - it is knife pleated from top to bottom so there is a fabulous play on the striping in the fabric going one way versus the vertical striping created by the pleats. That detail alone sold me on this dress. The top is that typical late 60s hostess gown silhouette - covered but with the sleeves left semi sheer and cuffed so they billow slightly and with a bit of a plunge at the neck that you can make deeper by not doing up the hidden hook & eye closures. It has it original belt and is in mint condition. For some reason I see a girl like Karen Elson or Florence Welch in this piece! Mint condition.
